"About Us"
Thank you for visiting the Stayner Granite Curling Club website and welcome to the 2009 - 2010 curling season. This Georgian Bay area curling club originated 45 years ago and continues to provide excellent curling for all who use this facility. The club was built by its members and includes 4 sheets of ice, with an active membership of 200 volunteers from nearby communities of Wasaga Beach, Stayner and the Clearview Township.
This four-season resort area of the Georgian Triangle located on the southern shores of Georgian Bay, also includes the towns of Collingwood and Blue Mountain. The area is designed to allow sports-minded people from the large cities in southern Ontario and in the USA to enjoy the 3rd largest ski resort in Canada at Blue Mountain and in the summer, the longest fresh water beach in the world in Wasaga Beach.
WWW.staynercurling.com is designed to be informing and user friendly. To promote our area, we are including seasonal type photos of the region on each web page, links to the local weather and road conditions, sponsor's websites as well as links to the two local municipal offices.
During the curling season, members will be able to keep up to date with the weekly schedule and scores of the various leagues posted on the web pages (see Daytime Curling and Nighttime Curling. Application forms and the current fee schedule can also be downloaded by clicking on Membership & Fees.
The Stayner Granite Curling Club will continue to work promoting the Georgian Triangle and the sport of curling in this area. Please enjoy your visit to our website and feel free to contact us anytime at clubnews@staynercurling.com
